Institut de Robòtica i Informàtica Industrial

The Institut de Robòtica i Informàtica Industrial is a Joint Research Center of the Technical University of Catalonia (UPC) and the Spanish Council for Scientific Research (CSIC). The Institute has three main objectives: to promote fundamental research in Robotics and Applied Informatics, to cooperate with the community in industrial technological projects, and to offer scientific education through graduate courses.

Robots designed to roam the streets

Research

The Institute presence in European research is strong, producing significant contributions in human oriented robotics. At the national level, we currently perform basic and applied research on outdoor mobile robotics and computer vision, position analysis and motion planning, fuel cell systems and management of water distribution networks. Education

As a Joint University Research Institute (IUE/163/2008 DOGC 3/4), the Institute is committed to excellence in higher scientific education, through the mentoring of undergraduate, masters and PhD students. Its academic staff teaches in both undergraduate and graduate programs at UPC. More...
